Green Mountain Cabaret BURLESQUE AUDITIONS

  • Soul Fire Studio 1 Mill St (suite 372) Burlington, VT, 05401 United States

Green Mountain Cabaret is expanding their talented group of performers again, and we want YOU to join us.

GMnC will be holding open auditions on May 24th from 12pm to 2pm, to cast the newest stage kittens (apprentices) in our troupe.

-Please bring clothing you can move in. (yoga gear works best, no jeans)
-If you would like to dance in heels we encourage you to bring them, but they are not necessary (do not wear socks, they are a slipping hazard.)
-If you have a headshot and resume, please bring them, if not, please bring a list of your experience if any.
-We will be photographing you on the day of the auditions for our records, we will not distribute this picture but it is so we can remember you after the auditions.
-Remember to have fun and ask questions!

To better acclimate those who do not know, here is the definition of a Stage Kitten:

An apprentice (aka. Stage Kitten) is a person who is either new to the group, new to burlesque, and/or is not quite ready to perform yet but hopes to get more comfortable with their body and do so in the future.
An apprentice's job during shows is to act as a stage hand, picking up the clothing after dances and setting up props and mics as needed, all while getting to wear fun burlesque-style clothing. The goal for an apprentice is to make sure GMnC is the right fit for them and to eventually move up to troupe. If someone is never interested in performing burlesque, and only wants to be an apprentice, this position with GMnC is not the right one for them.
When comfortable, an apprentice will be asked to be stage tested in a group number or solo in a show to see if they are ready to move up in the troupe. When there is room in the troupe and they are determined to be ready, Alexa Luthor and Merrique Hysteric will ask them if they would like to join the troupe as a dancer.
